We spend so much of our lives trying to discover our purpose. “Why am I here?” “What am I made for?”

We need to go back to the basics, to something so powerful and so simple, to our purpose. It’s what Jesus told us to do in three things: love God, love people, and teach others how to love God, love people – in other words, to replicate ourselves.

We often complicate our purpose and serving in the Kingdom. This leads us to get away from the simplicity of those three things.

 “What does it mean to love God?” Loving God is living in the ways with which he designed this world’s system to be. He created the world in His design. So when we obey Him, when we speak with Him, and spend time with Him, that’s what it’s all about, in terms of loving God: loving Him deeply, walking with Him and pouring out our hearts to Him and listening and responding to Him. 

How about loving people? It’s all about thinking about people first: you before me. “How can I love people more?“, it’s all about thinking about their needs, building them up and investing in them in a way in which they grow and then teach others how to do the same thing: Discover God, discover Jesus, love Him, love others and teach others how to do the same thing.

So today, as you’re thinking about “What purpose did you put me on this planet for God?“, think about, “How can I match my capabilities in who God made me, next to the things that I care about, alongside God’s purpose for my life; love God, love people, teach others how to do the same thing?” 

The more you pursue the answers to your calling, the more it clarifies your daily focus. The more that you’re able to know what’s most important today, the more you’ll be certain about the significance of your life. Keep at it!
