This is an important question, and you’re probably wondering why I’m asking, “Are you handing out blankets in hell?”

In The Master’s Program, we say we want to be in our Father’s business through our calling (our life’s mission). Yet, three elements must be engaged in your calling. Do you remember them? 

Love God, love people and make disciples.

Love God. If you were to love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, the rest would fall in place. He also said you need to love your neighbor as yourself or love other people as you love yourself. 

I imagine you love God a lot. But loving people, if you’re finding yourself short there, quite possibly you’re not loving yourself. I need to see myself as Jesus sees me. I’ve got to manage what I say about myself. And so if I love myself for whom God has made me, that outpouring will provide love to others. 

Love God, love people, then the third is to make disciples or to simplify that is to teach others how to know and love God and to love people. By doing that, we follow what Jesus said when He rose from the dead. Jesus said that all authority has been given to me. So, here are the instructions – go, baptize, and teach.

God says that you will leave the comfort of your current position to go out into all the world, and to baptize is to change identity. And aren’t we hearing a lot about identity these days? People are talking about moving from an identity of biologically to whom they think they are. There’s a trans identity for those who accept Jesus’ work in us. It’s to move and transform from who we were at birth to be born again, to be transformed in Christ. And baptism is the identity move to say, I’ve left the old world behind. I’m moving into the new world, and that’s the continual calling we want to bring others into. 

The third part of disciple-making is to teach. This is directly related to the important announcement below. To teach is to replicate myself. If you want to know anything, you teach it.  Who are the people that you are bringing along with you to follow you while you follow Christ?  The reality is that unless you’re in your Father’s business, you’re not on mission. We can’t call our businesses our calling if we lack the fruitfulness of all three (Love God, Love People, Make Disciples). 

So, I want to give you a big announcement. But, before I do that, I must give you a stark reality.  The truth is that if you are not making disciples, even though you’re loving God and loving people, you’re just making them comfortable on their way to hell. You’re offering them blankets in hell because a life without God is hell. It’s hell on earth to live without God. And all you’re doing is making them comfortable, loving God, loving people, but not making disciples. This is an important question for us to consider. Who am I bringing along with me in discipleship? Who am I bringing closer to God and calling them into a deeper relationship? Follow me while I follow Christ. 

So this is the big announcement today. We’re announcing TMPx. This is The Master’s Program multiplied. TMPx is a platform for you to start to disciple others. How do you do this? You’ll be able to show them how you live abundantly, integrating your career, family, and Kingdom calling.
