Women in Power

The answer depends on where her power is sourced. If it is from God, then the enemy is trembling. If it is from self, then it is short-lived and self-defeating.

Both women were leaders who received their power from the HIGHEST POWER. They were both empowered by God uniquely to administrate their KINGDOM ASSIGNMENT:

1.    Esther was the wife of King Ahasuerus who reigned over India to Ethiopia. Leading up to and during her reign she received wise counsel from two men. One was Mordecai and the other was Hegai. Mordecai was her cousin and he advised her to keep her identity concealed until further notice. Hegai was an official in the King’s palace who provided Esther with intel regarding appropriate protocol for winning favor from the King.

2.    Deborah was a judge and a prophet and referred to herself as a mother in Israel. She was known for her wisdom and administrated justice as the community brought cases before her. She was also a military leader and received God’s instructions for facing the enemy.

Esther was stealth, but through prayer and fasting, she received a winning strategy. Esther was summoned by the King and revealed the TRUTH. It required great courage as it could cost her life. Not knowing the outcome, Esther declared, “If I perish, I perish.” Nevertheless, she used her voice and saved her nation from an inside enemy. Esther required TRUSTED ADVISORS.

Deborah, on the other hand, was overt in her relationship with power. She was the one who summoned the military leader after also receiving a Word from the Lord. Summoning Barak, she shared what the Lord had shown her about going to war against the Canaanites. Barak refused to go to battle without her and she agreed to go, but not without making him aware that a woman would get credit for winning the battle. Deborah was the TRUSTED ADVISOR.

In both cases, these women carefully stewarded their influence and their relationship with power. As women of God, we do not need to be concerned about glass ceilings or labyrinths of leadership. Neither of these affect our Kingdom Assignment. What is required is obedience, faith, and the courage to stand in TRUTH. If we are called, then we are authorized and empowered to administrate the agenda of the King of Kings.

What battle is God calling you to?
How is He asking you to stand for truth?
Who is He asking you to encourage or stand with as a trusted advisor?

In your corner,
Nadya
