Have you ever been at the right place at the wrong time?
You might have a few memories you would rather forget. Maybe you were with a group of people and you said the wrong thing at the wrong time. That’s a momentary lack of judgement. But have you ever felt like you were at the right place at the wrong time for a season?
I have held many roles in my work life and professional career. There were times I believed I was at the right place at the right time. Other times, I felt like a failure. During my time in The Master’s Program I recognized that I had not been a failure more than I was cast in the wrong position.
It was during Session 5 that I realized I was an Originator/Organizer whose role had become too expansive and included administrating as an Operator. After helping a group of investors launch a consultancy, I eventually became the VP of Operations and found myself spending longer hours behind a desk interfacing with attorneys and accountants, making capital calls while managing budgets for 3 uniquely different enterprises. The thrill of the start-up was quickly drying up and I began to feel like a misfit.
This is called the Season of the Enterprise. People, companies, movements or ministries, all experience similar seasons of progress or growth. From incubation to infancy to adolescence, and then maturity, a movement or idea requires a certain type of leadership to advance to the next stage.
As we reflect on the history of our professional lives, this is a refreshing discovery. God has made us all unique. When we take an inventory on what has brought success in our careers, we can see how God wants to use us in similar ways for Kingdom advancing movements. Perhaps an organization already exists and is waiting for you to show up as an Organizer/Operator in the Season of the Enterprise. Or maybe God is waiting on you, a pure Originator, to ignite a movement that does not yet exist.
We are in your corner!
