Are You Stuck in Your Faith?

Sometimes we feel full of God’s love, and everything we do seems God-directed. Other times we can feel distant and stuck in our faith. We’re just not feeling it. Is this you? Follow this simple TMP strategy to get back on a growth path and feel the closeness to God.

Feeling stuck can be suffocating. You tell yourself you should be further, but it stills feels like you’re standing still in your faith. Apathy can set in. “Where are you going, Lord?” might be your cry. In reality, He’s closer than ever. The Trinity dwells in you! But it might not feel like it.

In Session 3 of TMP, we talk about Jesus’ call to transformation. It’s a simple, yet profound concept of how we become more like Jesus. The process starts with Holy Spirit asking us to be obedient in a particular area or do something requiring risk. Faith could easily be spelled RISK in the Kingdom because it requires us to leave our comfort zone. Before His prompting, we were unconsciously incompetent. In other words, we weren’t aware that anything was wrong. Once the Holy Spirit asks us to change, we have a choice: work to be transformed in the renewal of our minds or stay the same.

Feeling stuck in our faith can be caused by stalling out and becoming unresponsive to Holy Spirit’s request. To come alive again in our faith requires us to follow. Think of the last thing God asked you to do or change. Decide that you will obey and follow His prompting then begin the work necessary to transform. It won’t always be easy. It requires us to rewire our brains to conform to Jesus’ words. We will likely fail along the way. This is how the Trinity grows and matures us.

With consistent effort, you’ll practice a new behavior and become conscientiously competent: you can live in obedience and know it. Faith exercised is faith felt.  You may be surprised at the increased power you feel. Your faith will be reinvigorated. Before you know it, you will no longer be conscientious that you’re walking in obedience in this area. It’ll be automatic. You’ll be unconsciously competent. Your decision to respond to the Holy Spirit will set you up for a better response the next time He calls you to transformative growth.

Get unstuck today and re-engage with God’s call to transformationGreater levels of maturity and the feeling of your faith will ensue!

That lift opening and excitement was perfectly timed with the pinnacle of today’s message. God’s perfect timing at play!!

Thanks for the encouragement and direction today! I love the thought of going back… to what you last heard Him say, if things have been quiet since then. Press on!
