RACE to WIN!

Nadya Dickson here at the Charlotte Motor Speedway and I just facilitated Session 3 at The Speedway Club.

Here is a question for you to ponder. Are you IN it to WIN it?

Apostle Paul mentors young Timothy in 2 Tim 4:7 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

Paul didn’t just finish the race – he pressed toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14).

Dr. Robert Clinton, Author of The Making of a Leader, studied the lives of one thousand biblical figures and discovered that fewer than 30% finished well. Sadly, many leaders start strong but do not finish strong. We are seeing that all around us today, in churches, organizations and the marketplace. The collateral damage is horrendous!

How do you finish the race and WIN?

One of the areas we explored today in Session 3 was how God grows leaders. The Bible says that as maturing Believers we go from strength to strength. But we are first found in a place of blissful ignorance, or unconscious incompetence. After the Holy Spirit has pricked our hearts about a certain area or practice that is still unregenerated, we begin the transition to conscious incompetence. We become aware of our lack of growth or renewal, so we surrender that area, change our mind and habits and begin to consciously practice doing the right thing. Eventually we have emerged into a new normal – or our new nature. We walk or function in unconscious competence. This is victory!

A few years ago, researchers who conducted a study found that 40% of people will accomplish a goal if they commit to a timeline, 65% of people will achieve a goal if they committed to someone else that they will do it…but 95% will accomplish their goal if they have an appointment with an accountability partner!

This is exactly what we do in The Master’s Program. We have personally experienced that when it comes to leadership and spiritual fitness – it is critical to become a part of a cohort and to identify an accountability partner in that cohort!

I have been a Race Wife for 16 years. If there is one thing I learned about the WIN, it’s that the race can be lost or won in the Pit.

Who you have around you matters!

Imagine that you’re the driver and your TMP cohort is your Pit Crew – here are four ways to win your RACE:

R – Relevant Response: Like a NASCAR pit crew responding with exactly what the driver needs at each stop, your TMP cohort offers relevant and timely feedback during quarterly meetings. This ensures that the advice and support are directly applicable to your current challenges and opportunities.

A – Alignment and Accountability: Both a pit crew and your TMP cohort thrive on alignment and accountability. In the cohort, members share their goals and hold each other accountable for progress, similar to how a pit crew aligns with the driver’s strategy

C – Collaboration: Collaboration is key in both settings. The pit crew collaborates seamlessly to execute quick and efficient pit stops, while your cohort members work together, sharing insights, resources, and strategies to help each other advance toward their fitness goals.

E – Encourage: Just as a NASCAR Crew Chief encourages the driver to stay focused and motivated throughout the race, the TMP coach and cohort provides encouragement and moral support, helping members stay energized and committed to their long-term growth and success.

If all this is married with PRAYER, I believe there is a higher than 95% chance that TMP members will experience VICTORY towards creating Kingdom Impact!

In your corner,
Nadya
