Eternity. The mind struggles to grasp it.
When we’re young, the boundaries of time are rarely considered. We live as though the end does not exist. Then, typically in concert with a midlife crisis, our death date comes into view on the horizon. Most try not to dwell on it, so they fill our lives with distraction from it. But the gateway to eternity is approaching. I encourage you to embrace it by making your approaching death a clarion call to action.
I’ve been spending time walking graveyards lately. I want the clarity of my death to shape how I live daily. We only get one life and we don’t know when our time will be up. I want everything Papa God put in me to be leveraged for His Kingdom. I want to multiply what I’ve been given so that upon seeing King Jesus, He receives His due.
Jesus told a story because he was close to Jerusalem, and the people thought the Kingdom of God would appear immediately. It turns out the Kingdom was to be grown over time using Jesus’ investment in each of us. In the story, the Kingdom is depicted financially. Ten servants are given the King’s money. The King asks them to put his money to work until he returns. Upon his return, the King summons each to see what they gained with his investment.
What have you gained for the Kingdom with what Jesus has given you? Are you satisfied, ready, excited and prepared for that moment? I’m not. I have so much more to give for His Kingdom. I don’t want to be distracted by a different objective. And so I’m walking in graveyards as a stark reminder that my life is but a moment and must be spent for Him.
Some of us are afraid of King Jesus’ expectations. You see, Jesus is a King of miracles. He expects us to reap even where we have not sown. Kingdom work is risky. It requires faith that God will show up and do the miraculous when we trust Him. We can get lazy, easily distracted by the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of wealth. All the while, our time is rapidly depleting. Only God knows how much more time we have.
In the Master’s Program, we explore the resources King Jesus has given you. We uncover God’s specific design, passion, and purpose He is asking you to leverage for His Kingdom. We are committed to one thing: ensuring that what the King has given you is leveraged for His Kingdom.
Many of us will die without the opportunity to sing the song God’s put in us. I wonder about the countless lives in this graveyard that knew Jesus, that read about His expectations but did not cultivate enough faith to multiply His investment.
Jesus calls the servant who buried the King’s money toilsome. It’s the word used for evil. One who toils does not invest in Kingdom purposes. He invests in worthless pursuits with no eternal relevance.
May this not be us! You are a Kingdom Entrepreneur. The King has invested in you. He is expecting a return on His investment. Don’t let the song Jesus placed in your heart go to the grave before it is truly sung. May you take more significant risks for the Kingdom, knowing that a miraculous God will be faithful to multiply, even where you have not sown. Join us in the King’s pursuit of men and women seeking a 100x return on investment. We call it KROI. We want to meet Jesus, having leveraged everything He has given us.
Let’s get you serious about Kingdom investments because every Kingdom investment will echo throughout eternity. And, as Jesus said, a return on His investment will be rewarded.
We’re in your corner,
Rob

I am sometimes bothered by Evangelicals who believe they need to “earn their place in heaven”. Yes, we are all called to our many vocations and try our best to do God’s will here on earth, but the belief that we may not “sing the song God’s put in us” is not supported by Phil. 2:13, Eph. 2:10 and Luke 17:10. Rely on our Lord’s grace, not worrying about your acheivements.
