Who Are You?

Who Are You?

“Many in the world today are experiencing an identity crisis because the church is suffering from an identity crisis.”

I heard this statement the other day and it resonated with me.

What does that even mean?

In Session 9 of The Master’s Program we talk about the power of the Blessing. Jesus left the majesty of Heaven to come live among us, participate in our human experience, and model TRUE life.

The Father publicly blessed His Son and affirmed His identity when He was baptized by John. “This is my Son, with whom I’m well pleased.”

This would soon be tested by the enemy. As part of fulfilling His assignment, the Spirit drove Him into the wilderness. The accuser attacked Jesus in His faithfulness to the Father and attacked His identity in the Father. Each time Jesus responded with the Word of God. He knew who He was, and He knew the heart of the Father. Lastly, satan tempted Him in His calling. He tempted Jesus to bypass the cross and promised the King of kings He would reign over “the kingdoms of this world” if He would bow down and worship the prince of darkness. Yet, because He spent time with the Father, Jesus was steadfast in faithfulness and in His identity as the beloved of the Father, resisting the enemy until he fled.

Then laying down His life on the cross, He poured out His blood and surrendered His soul for the redemption of ours. Raised from the dead and up from the tomb, He dwelled again among humanity before ascending to the Father. He made sure to deliver the final executive orders, reminding us of our identity, our Kingdom purpose, and authority in Him.

So, “Who are you?” Who are you becoming in Christ?

If we function as if the Church is peripheral to the world – then the identity-confusion of the world system has us duped and walking as orphans under the curse. If we function in the reality that the world is peripheral to the Church, then we can walk in the blessing, authority, identity and sonship that Jesus modeled and now lives through us as we invite others to experience the love of the Father, and join us as we feast at His table.

To learn more about who you are becoming, consider joining us for an upcoming audit opportunity to link arms with a band of brothers or sisters in Christ.

We’re in your corner,
