What would happen if every marketplace leader who had been coached began coaching someone else?
In this solo episode of Leveraging Success, Jeff Gerhardt examines the gap between Jesus’ call to make disciples and how many Christians are actually living it out. Drawing from discipleship research, the Great Commission, and his own journey through The Master’s Program, Jeff reframes discipleship in practical marketplace language: being coached and coaching someone else.
Jeff explores why so many believers feel unqualified to lead others, how the church has gradually outsourced discipleship to professionals, and what Jesus’ relationship with His disciples teaches us about real coaching. Jesus selected people intentionally, stayed close to them, gave them genuine responsibility, allowed them to fail, corrected them, restored them, and eventually entrusted the mission to them.
Jeff also shares an honest limitation of The Master’s Program: personally coached programs can only grow as quickly as new coaches can be developed. He introduces TMPX Life Launch as a way for Master’s Program graduates to bring the same kingdom-focused formation into their churches, companies, neighborhoods, and communities.
This is part one of a two-part conversation. In the next episode, Rob Dayton joins Jeff to explain how TMPX Foundations Training prepares graduates to become licensed facilitators and confidently begin coaching others.

Hi Jeff,
I am one of the 3,000 graduates from TMP in San Luis Obispo, CA about 4 years ago.
I listen to you regularly and 100% believe in your communications.
I too, bought into Bob Shank call to change the world by changing our commitment to share with others.
Please share my message with Bob Shank, which I have not be able to contact through various emails to Bob. Please read my email to Bob and help me get to Bob that is also on National Christian Foundation as I seek a “co-steward” for our ministry that have 5,000 visitors per day from the 10/40 window.
Thank you,
Dear Bob,
I pray you and Cheri are doing wonderfully.
I spent three transformative years in The Master’s Program, and the principles of Kingdom stewardship and LifeMastery you taught me laid the groundwork for what I’m sharing with you today. We had lunch together at Zov’s Bistro on 4/17/23 to share the blessings of TMP teaching and what I believed a global Biblical mentoring project could become.
Over the past four years, at 81 years old, I have invested $2 million of my own capital to engineer, build, and deploy The Mentoring Project. Today—primarily driven by mobile reach from our translation/narration vendor—the platform serves 5,000+ daily visitors (over 2 million annually), with 90% coming directly from the 10/40 Window.
As I prepare to incrementally pass the leadership baton, I am looking for a single co-steward/family office to underwrite our $750,000 annual operations. This will allow us to transition our 100 Biblical life skill guides into a video learning academy across four key languages: English, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, and Hindi. We need to add Arabic and French languages to further assist penetration globally.
Knowing your role on the NCF California Board, I would be deeply grateful for your input on how best to present this to NCF regional advisors. It would be a privilege to connect over a second lunch at Zov’s Bistro if your schedule permits.
I’ve attached our brief Executive Prospectus. Following our conversation, my plan is to share this prospectus with Dan Navarra, copying Bryan Feller, Verne Murray, David Johnson, and yourself.
Thank you for the profound impact The Master’s Program has had on my life and work.
I thoroughly enjoy your weekly Monday morning Priority Living message.
Blessings,
John Nugier
