Last Tuesday was a big day for our American culture: it’s tagged “Giving Tuesday,” and – for some – it was fashionable/trendy to find a charity and make a contribution. The result? $3.6 billion given to non-profits during that 24-hours. We’re a week late… and more than a dollar short.
We stayed out of that fray; we kept “doing what we do” last Tuesday – ministering to Christian leaders like you – in our mission to prepare leaders to change our world and build God’s Kingdom, through their irresistible lifestyle and influential works of service. We advocate “giving” as a lifestyle, not as an annual one-day exception. Time, talent, influence and resources: generously invested into the things that matter most to Him. That’s Kingdom stewardship as a strategic practice.
Let me ask the obvious question: do you remember your Kingdom past, before you became part of the TMP community? From then to now, have you changed the way you see the difference between things that won’t matter at the end and the things that will be rewarded?
From now until New Years Eve, we’ll all be bombarded by appeals from charities hoping to solicit support from their “lists.” Many of those are bona fide Christian ministries who are doing great works that honor God today and will continue to matter in Eternity. Sorting through those requests to find the places where high returns are likely – where Jesus’ promise of 100x fruitfulness will be expected – is the strategic challenge. Find the good ones… and give from the heart.
One key metric for the Master’s movement is to see the increased eternal investments that flow through leaders like you. Is our effort yielding results? Look at your own life track; consider the evident engagement of the folks you may know who are TMPers, making an impact for the King. Are their lives of significance and service evidence of influence that God is routing to them, through TMP?
You hear from me every Monday; you track our expanding missional footprint as we support the leadership of leaders who are taking our movement to new frontiers. Their stories are astounding. What you don’t hear from me is an incessant appeal for contributions to The Master’s Program.
Some friends have become systematic investors in the ministry; they understand that our tight and efficient infrastructure is supporting far-reaching Kingdom assignments that multiply the return for their eternal portfolio. Despite these faithful friends and their gifts, the majority of our undesignated income still comes during December.
Every year, we have 11 months of deficit spending. We don’t sell ads or solicit sponsors; when you hear from us, it’s to provide biblical benefit to you as you continue to grow and serve in alignment with your own unique Kingdom Calling. In our world, we’re not the “rock stars:” you are.
You know us; you know what we do; you know the effect in your own life and leadership. We are able to serve you because of savvy givers who help us to keep our core team in position to make this 40-year-old ministry continue to serve successive generations of Kingdom leaders.
Allow me to challenge you with a bold request: would you give $100/$1,000/$10,000 to The Master’s Program and allow us to multiply the value of that investment by the 100x God-factor that Jesus promised in Matthew 13? Leaders like you – with multiplied influence through TMP – are our ultimate ministry metric.
