Dear Friend of Master’s,
Are you receiving and reading my weekly Point of View blogs every Monday? Our “open rate” is pretty high; most recipients open the email, and many of those are hitting the “read more” link to get the whole message. I’ve been amazed at the responses to this week’s PoV that went out under the subject line of “Are you planning for a breakthrough in 2024?” Are you?
If you haven’t read that one-pager, it’s worth revisiting. You can click here to see it, or scan back through your Monday incoming and open it there for yourself. Why?
I did a quick review of a virtual TED talk from almost 300 years ago, given by John Wesley. He was an Anglican church leader – and founder of the Methodist church – who was living on a minister’s stipend, but was also writing pamphlets (mini-booklets, easily read) that were sold across England. His income from the church was stable at 30-pounds sterling, annually; his earnings from his writings peaked at 1400-pounds in a year.
Beginning at age 28, he capped his lifestyle at 28-pounds/year and gave the rest of his income away to Kingdom causes. How did he do that?
A simple formula, as he described it: 1) Earn all you can; 2) Save all you can; 3) Give all you can. Rinse and repeat; do that year-in, year-out. He preached that; he practiced that; he had power in his messaging because he took God at his word and acted in faith. His legacy continues today, three centuries later.
He had a formula for his finances that was birthed from his faith. He’s a power-player in Christian history; I have no doubt that he’ll hear the words that are beyond imagination at the Judgment Seat: “Well done, my good and faithful servant: you’ve been faithful with little; I’ll make you ruler over much.”
Will I hear that commendation? Will you? What can we do to ensure that we do?
Those three directives are not a “multiple-choice” buffet line of options: they are a recipe for rewards in Eternity if consistently executed in faith.
For as long as you’ve known me, you’ve been part of my ministry downline. Our Kingdom calling it to help you find yours. God has given you the ability to create wealth – more than you need to fulfill your baseline responsibilities for personal and family sustenance – and with that comes the assignment to stewardship. His money, given to us to invest on his behalf. That’s part of our ministry – yours and mine – and will be a significant part of our end-of-life performance review.
As we near the end of 2023, The Master’s Program is still short of the funding necessary to refill our reserves. We minister all year, operating with financial deficits for 11 months knowing that our TMP community does their most significant Kingdom giving during December. We serve by faith all year, counting on God – and you – to even-up our resources by year-end. Will he come through this year? Will he use you to do that?
I’m shamelessly soliciting your partnership in launching The Master’s Program into 2024 with our reserves restored and our ministry impact enhanced. Would you consider a generous year-end contribution to this ministry to send us forward with the financial fuel in our tank?
You know the drill, I’m sure: click here to go to a secure page where you can see the options to provide a year-end gift. We still need about $137,000 to finish 2023 in the black; could you help us close that gap and end this year in financial confidence?
Thanks for being part of our community and for helping us to focus on unleashing Kingdom leaders to explore, expose and exploit their unique Calling!
